Shovelling Snow

Shelter beds fill up quickly, especially during cold weather. In early 2019, The Housing Action Coalition of Waukesha County and United Way opened a Waukesha Winter Overflow Shelter (WWOS) for women and families in Waukesha County. Between March and April 2019, a total of 38 adults and children were housed in the shelter.

The WWOS will re-open in December 2019 and will provide 20 added beds for women and families who are unable to get into any other shelter due to those shelters operating at full capacity.

The Housing Action Coalition is pleased to partner with Community Advocates, who will again operate the shelter by providing guests with a safe and secure place to stay, as well as supportive services.

Please consider donating through the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County. Below are several links with options for supplies, meals and monetary donations.
